In December 1531, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared near Mexico City to Juan Diego, a humble Indian, and miraculously portrayed herself on his cloak. Modern science cannot explain how the beautiful image reproduced on this card was put on the rough cloth, or how the original has survived to this very day! The message given to Juan Diego by Our Lady of Guadalupe remains vital for us today:

 

“Listen and understand, my dear little one. Do not be troubled or weighed down with grief. Do not fear any illness or vexation, anxiety or pain. Am I not here who am your Mother?...”

 

No problem is so great that a pregnant mother should murder her baby before he is born. Abortion is a terrible sin against God, the Author of all life.

Virgen de Guadalupe, en 1531, Dios te envió como instrument escogido para que millones de personas se convirtieran; te apareciste a tu humilde servidor, Juan Diego. Tu imagen de mujer humilde encinta quedó grabada en su tilma como un signo permanente de tu amor a los pueblos de América. Tu intercesión poderosa consiguió impedir los sacrificios humanos y la matanza de niños entre los Aztecas de México. Ora por nosotros, para que podamos terminar el holocausto del aborto y la eutanasia en nuestra tierra.

 

Madre amadísima, nosotros te confiamos nuestros esfuerzos en la lucha para cambiar las leyes injustas que permiten la destrucción de la vida humana de criaturas inocentes, que proclamemos la verdad de nuestra fé, ayudemos a los que están en crisis y amemos más a los vulnerables, a los que son rechezados y a los que no tienen amor. Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Madre de las Américas, guíanos en nuestros esfuerzos y llévanos hasta tu Hijo, Jesús. Amén.
